Subsea 7 Inc. has been awarded a major subsea pipeline and installation services contract from Santos Limited at the Casino-Henry field, offshore Victoria, Australia. The contract is valued in excess of $US80 million.
The Subsea 7 work scope includes installation of approximately 14 miles of 12-inch diameter rigid pipeline to connect the subsea production trees at the Henry-2 and Netherby locations, together with 4 rigid spool pieces and also the installation of about 14 miles of electro-hydraulic umbilical from Casino-4 to Pecten East locations.  Project management and engineering work will commence immediately and will be performed at Subsea 7’s offices in Singapore.
Offshore operations are scheduled to commence at the end of 2009 and will see the arrival of the company’s Seven Navica along with the Rockwater 2 diving support vessel.
In other news, Technip won a lump sum contract from BP Exploration and Production Company for the Isabela project in the Gulf of Mexico. The project is a subsea tie-back to the Na Kika semi-submersible platform located in Mississippi Canyon, 140 miles off New Orleans, LA in approximately 6,300 feet of water.
The contract covers project management, engineering, fabrication and installation of pipe-in-pipe flowlines, steel catenary risers and subsea equipments.
Technip’s operating center in Houston will execute this contract. The flowlines and risers will be welded at the Group’s spoolbase located in Mobile, AL. Offshore installation is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2010 using the Deep Blue, Technip’s deepwater pipelay vessel.
