Northwest’s Blue Bridge Pipeline Plans Move Ahead

Williams Northwest Pipeline and Puget Sound Energy are working together with respect to Northwest’s development of the Blue Bridge Pipeline Project that would transport natural gas from Stanfield, OR to markets in the Pacific Northwest. According to Northwest, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission held scoping meetings last month regarding the proposed 119-mile, 30-inch natural gas pipeline.

As proposed, the pipeline will deliver natural gas from the Rocky Mountains along a route that crosses northeast Oregon and enters Washington at the small town of Plymouth. It would consist of six sections that would parallel the existing Williams pipeline through Benton, Klickitat and Skamania counties for about 74% of its length. It would connect with the north-south Williams pipeline at Washougal.

Once completed, the project will transport up to 239,000 Dth/d of natural gas. Compression capacity would be added at stations near Washougal and Plymouth in Benton County. The project’s proposed in-service date is 2012.
