North Dakota Crude Expansion Completed

Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P. placed the Phase 6 expansion of its North Dakota crude oil system into service on Jan. 1, 2010. This expansion brings the nominal capacity of the North Dakota crude oil system to 161,000 bpd.
The $147 million Phase 6 project adds 40,000 bpd of capacity from the western end of the system to Minot, ND and 51,000 bpd of capacity from Minot to Clearbrook, MN, where the North Dakota system interconnects with the Enbridge Lakehead mainline system and the Minnesota Pipeline.
“The start-up of this important expansion of our North Dakota System is part of Enbridge’s commitment to provide timely and reliable transportation for Bakken oil production to Midwest markets,” said Kevin Hatfield, Enbridge Gathering System general manager. “We are continuing discussions with our customers to evaluate additional projects to enhance market access options for regional oil production.”
