Leslie Equipment Hosts Equipment Training Session

On February 26, more than 30 pipeline contractors attended a luncheon and equipment training session hosted by Leslie Equipment. The event was held at Leslie’s store and corporate training facility in Cross Lanes, WV.
  Todd M. Perrine, Leslie Equipment’s vice president of Product Support, said the event drew attendees from such well known firms as ST Pipeline, Welded Construction, Foltz Welding, Pete Gould Inc., Western Construction, Appalachian Pipeline Contractors, Arvilla Oilfield Services, RJ Coreman, Bruce Allen Inc., J-Wood and Henkels & McCoy
  The luncheon was followed by a short presentation by Perrine, Doug Garner, senior engineer at Midwestern Manufacturing Company and Dan Alban, a John Deere crawler specialist.
  Attendees were also treated to training on the Deere 850JLGP M572XL side boom, the new Deere 1050J M583C side boom (one of the first in the country), the Deere 850JWT manual angle blade crawler and two Deere 240DL excavators equipped with the Allu SMH 3-17-40 padding/screening bucket.
  According to Perrine, the demonstration area was full all afternoon as customers waited to operate the new models.
  Perrine also noted that Leslie Equipment built over 40 side booms in 2008 and is now taking orders for deliveries this year.
  Leslie Equipment President John Leslie said the event was beneficial to the customers who were allowed to see and operate the new machines. “Hopefully,” he said, “we can have more of these events in the future.”
