Iroquois Gas Completes 08/09 Expansion

Iroquois GasTransmission System L.P. placed the third and final phase of its 08/09 expansion project in-service on Nov. 1, 2009, as scheduled.
  Construction for the addition of the 10,300 horsepower compressor unit at Iroquois’ existing Brookfield Compressor Station, located in Brookfield, CT, was completed mid-October and the unit commenced operation on Nov. 1, 2009, following approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
  Other facilities constructed in previous phases of the project include a 1.6-mile 36-inch diameter pipeline loop in Newtown, CT placed in service November 14, 2008 and two 10,300 horsepower compressor units at a new station in Milford, CT placed in service January 14, 2009.
  The 08/09 expansion project will deliver an additional 200 MMcf/d of natural gas from Iroquois’ interconnection with the Algonquin Gas Transmission System in Brookfield, CT to National Grid’s local distribution system at South Commack, Long Island.
  The Iroquois system transports more than 1.5 Bcf/day of natural gas, primarily from western Canada, into the Northeast.
