Fluor JV Awarded Pre-FEED Contract For Denali Treatment Plant

Fluor Corporation announced that its joint venture, Fluor WorleyParsons Arctic Solutions, has been awarded an engineering contract by Denali—The Alaska Gas Pipeline LLC, for its Gas Treatment Plant (GTP). The engineering contract is a preliminary front-end engineering and design effort (pre-FEED) that will be led from the firm’s Alaska operations center and will maximize Alaska-based engineering and technical resources.

  The contract covers the services required during the initial design phase of the project for the GTP. Major contract elements include a series of technical studies, development of the project design basis, project execution planning, cost estimating, schedule development and other services.
  The GTP, to be located on the North Slope, is an essential part of Denali’s overall project. It will remove carbon dioxide, water, hydrogen sulfide and other impurities from the gas before it is shipped in the pipeline. It will also provide initial gas chilling and compression. The GTP will be the largest plant of its type in the world and will have process modules weighing up to 9,000 tons.
  Denali—The Alaska Gas Pipeline LLC is planning for the construction of a pipeline to deliver 4 Bcf/d of natural gas a day from the North Slope of Alaska to markets in the Lower 48, Alaska and Canada.
  The joint venture team has engaged CH2M Hill as its exclusive Alaska subcontractor to provide support services during this initial design phase.
