Dawn Gateway Pipeline Seeks Ontario Jurisdiction To Advance Project

The Dawn Gateway Pipeline Limited Partnership has withdrawn its applications with Canada’s National Energy Board (NEB) and will work to advance its Dawn Gateway Pipeline project under the jurisdiction of the Ontario Energy Board (OEB).
In a recent decision by the OEB, the Board asserted regulatory jurisdiction over the Ontario based elements of the proposed pipeline.
“While we are withdrawing our application to the NEB, we are currently reviewing options to ensure that the Dawn Gateway project can proceed on a timely basis with the necessary approvals from the OEB,” said Steve Baker, president, Dawn Gateway Pipeline Limited Partnership. “The in-service date of the Dawn Gateway project is still targeted for November 1, 2010”.
The Dawn Gateway Pipeline is a joint venture owned equally by subsidiaries of Spectra Energy and DTE Pipeline Company, connecting Michigan Consolidated Gas Company’s Belle River point to Union Gas’ Dawn Hub.
Dawn Gateway Pipeline will provide initial firm transportation capacity of 360 MMcf/d, utilizing a combination of new and existing pipelines.
