143-Mile Guardian Pipeline Expansion/Extension Completed

ONEOK Partners, L.P. has completed the Guardian Pipeline expansion and extension project. The pipeline, meter stations and associated compressor stations are now fully in service, extending the existing 143-mile Guardian natural gas pipeline system that originates near Channahon, IL and ends at Ixonia, WI, by approximately 119 miles and adding 537,200 Dth/d of natural gas transportation capacity.
  In December of 2008, the Guardian Pipeline extension was placed into partial service, and the first of two compressor stations was fully operational on February 10.  The commissioning of the second compressor station was completed on Feb. 25, which brings the project to its full-design capacity.
  Work on restoration of the pipeline right-of-way and some above-ground facilities remains and will be completed when weather permits. Final project costs previously provided ranged from $277 million and $305 million, which excludes allowance for funds used during construction.
  The new pipeline will transport natural gas from the existing Guardian Pipeline at Ixonia, WI, in northeastern Jefferson County, to northern Outagamie County near Green Bay, WI.
